Kuala Lumpur

Kuala Lumpur, the capital of Malaysia, is one of the most popular tourist destinations of South East Asia. The city finds its pride of place in the travel itinerary of all tourists and travelers who want to have a diversified holiday experience. Kuala Lumpur, also fondly called as KL, is the political and cultural centre of the country and show cases its great strides in the field of trade and commerce, banking and finance, manufacturing, transportation, information technology and tourism.





How to reach
Kuala Lumpur International Airport (KLIA) at Sepang is very well connected with most of the major centres across the world. KLIA is located around 70 Km south of Kuala Lumpur. KLIA express, a high speed train connects the airport with the city. For roaming around in city, there are private taxies, public transport system as well as mono rails and light rails which are fast, efficient and affordable.

What to Do
Kuala Lumpur has some of the most exciting sites and places of interest. The Petronas Twin Towers are an architectural wonder and a must see. The towers are connected at the 41 and 42 level by a Skybridge which can be visited by tourists to have an out of the world experience. KL Tower, another great marvel of architecture, offers a panoramic and breathtaking view of the city's landscape. Jamek Mosque, the National Mosque, the Thean Hou Temple and the Sri Mahamariaman Temple are other important tourist destinations. For those interested in adventure, there is the Bukit Nanas Forest Reserve, a sanctuary for birds and wildlife and great for observing wild animals and flora and fauna at its very best. National Monument which is a war memorial, the Orchid Garden, the Hibiscus Garden, the Butterfly and Deer Park and the National Planetarium are also frequently visited by tourists and visitors. For those interested in history, of course there are plenty of options such as the National Museum, the Tunku Abdul Rahman Memorial, the Police Museum, the Islamic Art Museum and the KL Natural History Museum. The limestone Batu Caves are a great destination and is at a short distance away from the city. In short KL is the complete vacation package offering great sight seeing.

Places Nearby
Genting Highlands, located 45 minutes away from the city, is one of the most popular tourists entertainment centre of the world. Also known as the City of Entertainment, it houses a theme park, having great shows round the year, a golf course, an equestrian course, and casino. You can plan a trip to the place as it is well connected to KL through a regular bus service.





Shopping
Kuala Lumpur is paradise for shoppers. The Central Market is the ideal place to shop for traditional and ethnic items such as handicrafts, brass items, ethnic wear etc. Other market places include Lot 10, KL Plaza, Sungai Wang Plaza, Imbi Plaza, Low Yat Plaza and Berjaya Times Squares where you can buy designer clothes, electronics and lot of items of daily use.

Night life
KL has an active and vibrant night life with a number of pubs, bars and cafes open till wee hours and offering great entertainment including live performances, orchestra, piano sessions and so on.
