Places to visit
London is extremely rich in galleries and museums. Major Galleries are homes to works by some of the world's most famous artists. The National Gallery, a 'must visit ' for any art-loving visitor, displays western paintings from about 1260-1900 and includes works by, Leonardo da Vinci, Rembrandt, Gainsborough and Van Gogh. The National Portrait Gallery houses a permanent collection of portraits of famous men and women from the Tudors to the present day. The British Airways London Eye is the world's highest observation wheel and offers passengers panoramic and spectacular landscape views of over 55 of London's most famous landmarks. Royal Botanic Garden which is also a World Heritage site, is a treat to watch. 10 Downing Street, the official residence of the British prime minister is also a popular choice for visitors and tourists.

How to reach
London is very well connected with almost all the major cities of the world. Heathrow airport is the international airport and one of the busiest in the world. International visitors require a valid passport and Visa before they can be allowed in. The local transportation offers a variety of choices from private taxis to train and bus metros, world famous for their efficiency and affordability.

Accommodation
Being a cosmopolitan city, the choices and myriad and catering to all the budgets. It is always a good idea to do a booking in advance at least for first 1 or 2 days as the city is always swarming with visitors and then look for alternate arrangements if you want to explore the city for better choices. Country side would offer relatively less expensive and affordable option.





When to Go
The atmosphere is quite fickle and unpredictable in London. Summer season lasts during July and August and temperature is generally around 20 to 30 degrees. Spring season temperatures range between 11 to 15 degrees and are ideal for visit. Winters can be chilly with temperatures dropping to around 5 to 9 degrees. Snow fall is infrequent but winters are quite damp.
